Google wave adalah produk terbaru dari google yang masih dalam tahap pengerjaan.Situs ini diperkirakan akan menyaingi Facebook. Jika dilihat Google wave ini semacam layanan komunikasi realtime, mungkin seperti facebook, atau bisa jadi feature-feature yang dikembangkan bisa mengalahkan facebook. Aplikasi Google wave ini menggabungkan banyak fitur yang sudah dimiliki oleh google seperti email, instant messaging, wikis, web chat, social networking, dll.Rencana, Google Wave ini akan diluncurkan tahun 2009 ini.
Ada beberapa feature-feature yang ada di Google Wave :
a. Real-time: Bisa langsung melihat apa yang sedang diketik lawan chatting (per karakter)
b. Embeddability: Google wave bisa dipasang di blog / website.
c. Applications and Extensions: Terdapat aplikasi dan game online yang tidak kalah seru dari Facebook.
d. Wiki functionality: Banyak yang bisa kita edit di tampilan Google Wave.
e. Open source: Google Wave mengijinkan pengguna untuk mengembangkan kode-kode baik itu Javascript maupun lainnya. Hal ini akan sangat menyenangkan khususnya bagi para programmer.
f. Playback: Untuk memutar kembali apa saja yang sudah terlewatkan di Google Wave.
Natural language: Terdapat auto translate dan auto correct. Ini akan memudahkan kita untuk chatting dengan orang asing.
g. Drag-and-drop file sharing: Bisa saling berbagi file dengan teman-teman anda.
